Holly Chomyn will begin her 12th season as assistant coach for the University of Delaware women's and men's tennis teams in 2007-08.
She teamed with head coach Laura Travis in leading the Blue Hen men's team to the 1997 America East team title and the UD women's team to six straight America East second place finishes in 1996-2001.
She has served as a USPTA Tennis Professional in Wilmington, DE the past 14 years and has served as an Area Training Coach in Delaware the past 10 years.
A native of Columbia, MO, Chomyn is a 1987 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in exercise physiology where she was a three-year member of the Tiger tennis squad, advancing as high as No. 6 singles and No. 2 doubles. While at Rock Bridge HS in Columbia, MO, Chomyn won the state title as a senior.
Still active in tennis, she played in Challenger Tournaments in Atlanta after graduation and she ranked No. 1 in doubles in the state of Delaware and No. 2 in Middle States from 1992 until 1994. |
