EASTON, PA -- The University of Delaware men's tennis team split six singles matches and won two of three doubles matches to edge Lafayette, 4-3, Tuesday afternoon.

The Blue Hens (4-7), who have won three of their last four matches, picked up singles victories from Matt Liebman, Sam Barrer, and Jon Schwartz.

Liebman (right) defeated Brett Kraft 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3, while Barrer cruised past Lee Kojanis 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 to pick up his forth straight singles victory. Schwartz topped Steven Benezra 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5.

Lafayette (8-7), which has lost five of its last six matches, picked up wins at the top two singles spots as Paul Guarino downed Austin Longacre 7-5, 6-4 and Eric Wiley topped Nolan Greenberg 7-6 (6), 6-2. The Leopards other singles victory came at the No. 6 spot where Matt McGranaghan snapped Camilo Perez's three match win streak with a 6-4, 7-6 (5) win for Lafayette.

In the doubles, Guarino and Kraft teamed up to defeat Greenberg and Jason Hanschmann 8-4 in Lafayette's only doubles vicotry. Delaware picked up wins from Longacre and Andrew Blumberg who topped Kojanis and McGranaghan 8-2 at No. 2 and Barrer and Perez, who won their fourth match in a row by defeating Wiley and Benerzra 8-5 at No. 3.

The Blue Hens will get back into Colonial Athletic Association play Friday afternoon when Delaware hosts George Mason at 12 noon at the Delaware Field House Tennis Courts.
