DELAND, FL -- Host Stetson University won 16 of the 18 matches on the day on its way to sweeping the University of Delaware men’s and women’s tennis teams Wednesday afternoon.

The Stetson men defeated Delaware 7-0 while the Hatter women posted a 5-2 win over the Blue Hens. Both Delaware teams fell to 4-3 on the season after the second and final match of their annual spring trip to Florida. Delaware will return to action with a men’s match March 31 vs. James Madison at Towson, MD.

Delaware won its only matches on the day on the women’s side as Blue Hen No. 1 women’s singles players Susan Pollack posted a 6-7 (6-7), 6-4, 10-8 victory over Mila Milovanovic and No. 6 player Brittany Barsky was a 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 10-4 winner over Mary Mollman.

Pollack improved to 11-4 on the season while Barsky improved to 11-1 on the year with her third straight victory.

In the women’s match, Marina Levin downed Delaware’s Amanda Campbell at No. 2, Anna Leoneuko defeated Liz Perlow at No.. 3, Catherine Canady downed Sari Shuster at No. 4, and Samantha Lauge downed Alexa Dragonette at No. 5. In doubles, Milovanovic and Levin downed Pollack and Campbell at No. 1, Leoneuko and Canady defeated Dragonette and Barsky at No. 2, and Lauge and Mollman were winners over Shuster and Julie Schiller at No. 3.

In the men’s match, Marcus Echtler defeated Nolan Greenberg at No. 1, Joey Jones downed Adam Liebman at No. 2, Mario Alberto Cayo defeated Josh Ditman at No. 3, Binger Soloand was a winner over Jon Schwartz at No. 4, Eddie Majcher defeated Josh Levine at No. 5, and Peter Duzoua was a winner over Phil Wayne at No. 6. In doubles, Serguei Boulanov and Echtler defeated Jesse Carl and Greenberg at No. 1, Jones and Majcher defeated Jason Hanschmann and Wayne at No. 2, and Cayo and Soloand downed Schwartz and Levine at No. 3.
