EWING, NJ -- The University of Delaware men’s tennis team resumed its 2005 06 season with its first spring event of the season as the Blue Hens won 10 of 19 events against host College of New Jersey Sunday afternoon.

The two teams took part in four singles flights and two doubles flights in the non-scoring team events. The Blue Hens won five of the 11 singles events and five of the eight doubles events.

Freshman Nolan Greenberg (Nicolet/Glendale, WI - at right) and sophomore Jason Schwartz (Wheatley/Roslyn Heights, NY) each went 3-0 on the day to lead the Blue Hens.

Greenberg downed Roger Mosteller 7-6 (2), 6-4 at Flight B singles and teamed with Jesse Carl to down Ryan Carty and Corey Ball of New Jersey 8-5 and Mosteller and Mike Klimchak 8-6 at Flight A singles. Schwartz defeated Justin Cook 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) at Flight C singles and teamed with Philip Wayne for an 8-6 win over Eric Ferriere and Matt Hiznay at Flight B doubles and with Josh Levine for an 8-6 win over Will Daly and James Vance at Flight B doubles.

Also for Delaware, Zach Chafitz defeated Hiznay 2-6, 7-4 (4), 1-0 (10-8) at Flight D singles and teamed with Amit Kapur for an 8-4 win over Daly and Vance at Flight B Doubles. Kapur also downed Daly 7-5, 6-2 at Flight D singles.

Delaware’s Adam Liebman posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over Klimchak at Flight A singles for the Blue Hens’ other victory.
