Hall of Fame Ocean
Mile December 31, 1998 FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. -- The University of Delaware women's swimming team placed second and the Blue Hen men were fourth at the 29th annual International Swimming Hall of Fame Ocean Mile Swim Thursday. The Delaware women's team of Amy Spooner, Laura Riley, Kelly Scollon, Amanda Stouffer, and Lisa Dillinger placed second out of 50 teams. Louisville won the team title while Williams (Mass.) College placed third. In the men's race, Delaware's team of Luke Schenck, Jim Riechart, Ryan Fauth, Eric Betsko, Mike Gallaher, and Greg Tokarsky placed fourth out of 45 teams. Eastern Michigan won the team title followed by Louisville and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Stouffer finished second among all juniors in the women's competition while Spooner was fifth among freshmen. For the Blue Hen men, Fauth finished fifth and Tokarsky was seventh among seniors. The meet was an exhibition as part of Delaware's annual Christmas break training in Florida. |
