The University of Delaware men's and women's swimming and
diving team swept Lafayette in non-league meet Wednesday
afternoon at Rawstrom Pool.
The Delaware men (3-4) won seven events on the way to a
137-105 victory, snapping a four-meet losing streak. The
Blue Hens women(4-3) won 10 of the 13 events to post a
158-77 win over the Leopards. The teams faced each other for
the first time since the 1989-90 season.
Junior Brian Aston (Cheshire, CT/Cheshire) and
senior Ryan Fauth (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) each
won two events to pace the Delaware men. Aston won the
one-meter (247.65) and three-meter (265.12) diving events
while Fauth captured the 200 freestyle (1:46.81) and 200
backstroke (1:58.83).
For Lafayette, senior Ilya Fishman won three events,
swimming a leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay and
capturing the 50 freestyle (22.09) and 100 freestyle
(48.86).
