Fort Lauderdale, FL -- The University of Delaware men's and women's swim teams captured six of the 11 events during their Florida Relay meet against Pittsburgh and Darton at the Fort Lauderdale Hall of Fame pool held from December 19-21.

The men captured three events, while the women won two. Then, the teams combined to win the lone mixed relay of the meet, which was unscored.

In the 200-Meter Medley Relay, John Ohlhaver, Grady Carter, Adam Blomberg (at right), and Andrew Zinn sped to the team's first victory of the competition, finishing in 1:55.16. The women quickly followed with their first win as Sarah Begley, Kailey Pelton, Michelle Stephens, and Staphanie DeCrescente took the 200-Meter Butterfly in 2:07.90.

The Blue Hen men completed Delaware's sweep of the Butterfly relay events as Blomberg, Scott Dunlap, Michael Wodoslawsky, and Troy Sattgast completed the 200-meter course in 1:56.90. They were closely followed the Hens' 'B' team, anchored by Ryan Carolan, Zach Schiavo, John DiLuigi, and Craig Young, who placed second with a time of 1:57.03.

With three wins in hand, Delaware finished on a tear, claiming the last three events of the competition including a clean sweep of the top-three spots in the Mixed 500-Meter Freestyle Relay.

During that event, Begley and Zinn combined with Maryann Walker and Dominic Pavlik to notch the first-place finish after touching the wall in 5:20.44. Begley, Walker, Donna Healy, and Rachel Greene then concluded the women's portion of the competition with a victory in the 200-Meter Freestyle Relay, finishing in 1:58.19.

The men then capped the meet with their own victory in the 200 Free as Ohlhaver, Blomberg, Carter, and Zinn captured the event in 1:41.21.

In addition to the Hens' six first-place finishes, they also came in second during six events and third during eight of the eleven disciplines.

Delaware will return to action on Saturday when the Hens travel to Harrisonburg to take on VMI and James Madison at 1 p.m.
