RICHMOND, VA -- University of Delaware sophomore Andrew Zinn has been named Colonial Athletic Association men’s swimmer of the week for November 14, the CAA has announced.
Zinn (Wilmington, DE/McKean) was a double winner for the Blue Hens in their razor thin 119-118 loss to Drexel on Saturday. Zinn took first in both the 50 freestyle in 21.46 and the 100 freestyle in 47.55. The time of 21.46 in the 50 meter freestyle is the sixth best time in Delaware school history.
Zinn also teamed up with James Lavender, Adam Blomberg, and Garrett Arant to capture the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 3:16.15.
Zinn has won the 50 freestyle in all four meets this season and has won the 100 freestyle three times in four tries. The team of Lavender, Blomberg, Arant, and Zinn has also won the 400 relay in every meet they have participated in this season.
The Blue Hen men’s and women’s swimming teams will return to action this weekend at La Salle with Rider for a 1 p.m. meet with the Explorers and the Broncs.
