Delaware Men
Take Three Seconds at Towson
TOWSON, MD -- The University of Delaware women's 4
x 800 meter relay team captured first place and the Blue Hen
men's team had four second place finishes to highlight
action at the Towson University Track and Field Invitational
Saturday at Minnegan Stadium.
The Delaware women's 4 x 800 meter relay team was the
Blue Hens' only champion on the day as the foursome ran to a
winning time of 9:30.0.
Other top Delaware finishers in the women's section were
second place finishes by Jennifer Moynihan in the
1,500 meters (4:56.25) , Brandy Connell in the hammer,
(160-11), and the 4 x 100 meter relay (51.2) and third place
finishes by Aimee Alexander in the 1,500 meters
(4:56.47), Janna Mattey in the pole vault (9-0), and
the 4 x 400 meter relay team (4:10.35).
For the men, Jeremy Muratore was second in the
5,000 meters in 16:04.3, Eric Sands was second in the
discus with a toss of 153-6 1/2, Mike Chadwick was
second in the hammer (168-11), and Mike DiGennaro was
second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 9:25.7. Tom
Marando had two top five finishes, placing third in the
shot put (48-4 1/4) and fifth in the discus (136-10).
Both teams will compete at the Penn Relays at the
University of Pennsylvania this week.

Place - 4 x 400m relay (3:24.02); Brian Demlein, 400m
(51.14); Troy Bockius, 1,500m (3:58.76); 4 x 100m relay
(43.68); Paul Visentin, 3,000m steeplechase (9:52.2); 5th
Place - Peter Kelly, 10,000m (34:22.13); Tom Marando,
discus (136-10);
