Riley Posts Hens' Best Individual Finish With 16th Place in 10,000 Meters

PHILADELPHIA -- Freshman Mandy Stille placed third overall in the heptathlon with a school record point total of 4,853 to highlight University of Delaware performances at the annual Penn Relays this past week at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field.

Stille broke her own school record of 4,696 set earlier this season at the University of Florida Invitational.

Also for the Delaware women, the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Rachel Schultz, Stille, Daniella Price, and Tyechia Smith placed second in their heat with a time of 3:51.60 behind Maryland-Eastern Shore - breaking the UD mark of 3:54.24 set last season. The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Wright, Stille, Daniella Price, and Smith was second in its heat with a time of 47.45, Casey Bennett placed 20th in the pole vault with a leap of 10-10, and freshman Rachel Young was 21st in the shot put with a toss of 40-9.

For the Delaware men, senior Patrick Riley had the best individual finish for the Hens, placing 16th in the 10,000 meter run with an IC4A-qualifying time of 30:48.20.

Also for Delaware, Mike Yost placed 17th in the hammer with a toss of 171-4, Jerome Holder was 50th in the 400 meter hurdles with a clocking of 56.08, the 4 x 400 meter relay team placed second in its heat (3:20.58) behind winner Saint Joseph's (3:13.46), the 4 x 100 meter relay team placed eighth in its heat with a time of 43.35, the distance medley relay placed 10th in its heat with a time of 10:23.77, and the 4 x 800 meter relay team placed 13th in its section with a time of 7:50.80.
