COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Senior Jared Wasser placed in the top 11 in three different events to lead the University of Delaware men’s outdoor track and field team at the University of Maryland Outdoor Track and Field Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Kehoe Track Complex.

Wasser was the team’s top finisher with a second place finish in the shot put with a throw of 52-feet, 4-inches and also placed seventh in the discus throw (143-3) and 11th in the hammer (138-4) to lead the Blue Hens. Overall the Blue Hens had 14 top 20 finishes in the non-scoring meet.

The Delaware women’s outdoor track and field team did not compete at the meet.

Also for the Blue Hens, Gregg Cantwell placed third in the 5,000 meters (14:50.91), Alex Gambogi was eighth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:02.12), Matt O’Brian finished eighth in the 5,000 meters (15:30.33), Tony DiUlio was 11th in the discus (138-6) and 21st in the hammer (121-3), Doug Alpers was 11th in the shot put (44-0), and Mike Ward was 11th in the 5,000 meters (15:37.51).

Also, Chase Renoll was 12th in both the shot put (43-11 3/4) and the discus (136-10), Kevin Kemmerle was 13th in the 5,000 meters (15:44.70), Bob Bartocci was 14th in the javelin (154-10), and Kyle Schmid was 14th in the 1,500 meters (4:06.20).
