PRINCETON, NJ -- Blue Hen freshman Cristine Marquez (at right) finished seventh in the 400 meter dash finals as the University of Delaware men’s and women’s outdoor track teams competed on the third and final day of the ECAC/IC4A Championships Sunday at Weaver Track and Field Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.
Marquez, who placed second in the event at the Colonial Athletic Association championships last month, finished seventh in the 400 meter dash in 56.58. James Madison's Leslie Anderson captured the ECAC event with a time of 55.03.
Also competing for the Blue Hen women was senior Rachel Young, who placed 14th in the shot put with a throw of 42-9. Northeastern's Zora Northover won the event with a toss of 55-3/4.
Delaware senior Jared Wasser (at right) finished 17th in the shot put with a throw of 51’9.75” to lead the Blue Hen men’s team. He was the only UD men's athlete to compete Sunday. Milan Jotanovic of Manhattan won the competition with a throw of 63-7 1/2.
The Delaware women finished in a tie for 44th place at the championships, while the Blue Hen men tied for 45th place. Georgetown captured the women’s title with 79 points, while Liberty took the men’s title with 77 points.
