High School: Standout midfielder in both lacrosse and soccer at Mt. St. Joseph's High School...served as captain of both teams...earned four varsity letters in lacrosse for head coach Tony Brockmeyer...earned All-Baltimore County honors...earned three varsity letters in soccer for coach Mike St. Martin...earned All-Baltimore County honors...led team to 2005 MIAA state championship...National Honor Society student...member of school's Leadership Club.

At Delaware: Second-year member of the squad...will battle for spot on Blue Hens' No. 1 midfield unit after a solid freshman campaign...could also see action on man-up situations...effective scorer with good strength to push pass defenders.

2007 Season: Played key role as a backup midfielder and on man-up situations as a freshman...helped lead to Colonial Athletic Association title and a berth in the NCAA Final Four...played in 16 games in a backup role and scored three goals and one assist for four points...had 10 shots and seven groundballs...scored two goals vs. Georgetown...had first career goal vs. Mt. St. Mary's and dished out only assist against Towson in regular season....was named CAA Rookie of the Week for March 20.

Personal: Douglas Arthur "D.J." Widlake Jr....son of Doug and Maureen Widlake...civil engineering major at Delaware...oldest of four children...hobbies include hunting, fishing, and four-wheel riding...works as a cook during the summer...father, Doug, played college soccer at Salisbury State...uncle, Jeff Kirby, played lacrosse at Delaware in 1984-86.
