At Delaware: Second-year team co-captain as a senior...three-year letterwinner...one of the nation's top returning goalkeepers...ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-American candidate....one of 20 candidates nationally for 2008 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award nominees for excellence in academic, athletics, and community service...rated No. 6 goalkeeper in the country in Inside Lacrosse Pre-Season rankings...24 career wins (24-11) ranks him No. 2 in the nation among returning goalkeepers...for his career, has appeared in 39 games with 36 starts, allowed 271 goals (8.13 gaa) and recorded 371 saves (.579 pct.)...on Delaware's all-time lists, ranks No. 1 in goal allowed average (8.12), No. 4 in minutes played (2,000) No. 5 in save pct. (.579), and No. 9 in saves (371)....has posted 10 or more saves 21 times in career.

2007 Season: Enjoyed an outstanding season in leading Delaware to the Colonial Athletic Association title and an NCAA Final Four berth...started all 19 games, allowing 133 goals (7.81 gaa) and recording 186 saves (.583 pct.)...set a UD single season record by playing 1,021:14 minutes and his 7.81 gaa was the second best in UD history...also picked up 46 groundballs...ranked No. 11 in the nation in goals allowed average (No. 3 in CAA) and No. 14 in save pct. (No. 2 in CAA)...posted 10 or more saves nine times with season high 18 in NCAA first round win over Virginia...earned CAA All-Tournament honors in posting wins over Drexel when he allowed 14 goals (7.0 gaa) and posted 29 saves (.674), including 17 stops in title game win over Towson...allowed nine or less goals in each of the last seven games of the season...in five post-season games, allowed 36 goals (7.20 gaa) and posted 64 saves (.640)...also had 17 saves in regular season loss to Towson and 16 in loss at Duke...earned UD Team Sportsmanship Award for second straight year...keyed a defense that ranked No. 2 nationally in man-down defense (.817) and No. 16 in scoring defense (8.05).

2006 Season: Enjoyed a solid season as a first-year starter for Colonial Athletic Association runners-up...started all 17 games in goal, playing 954:33 minutes...allowed 136 goals (8.55 gaa) and posted 180 saves (.570)....also had 31 groundballs...his 8.55 goals allowed average was the second best mark in UD history...ranked 19th in the nation in save pct....recorded 10 or more saves 12 time with career and season-high 19 vs. Hofstra in CAA title game...also had 17 stop in semifinal win over Towson...earned spot on CAA All-Tournament team for his 36 saves in two games...keyed a defense that ranked No. 1 nationally in man-down defense (.811) and No. 16 in scoring defense (8.18).

2005 Season: Did not see game action as team’s No. 3 goalkeeper and retained sophomore eligibility...named to Colonial Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll...team advanced to the NCAA Tournament with a first round 9-7 loss at Navy.

2004 Season: Saw action in three games as a freshman backup to All-American Chris Collins...saw 24:36 minutes of action and recorded five saves (.714 pct.) and allowed two goals (4.88 gaa)...posted career-highs of 15 minutes and three saves (one goal) vs. Mt. St. Mary’s...saw six minutes of action and had two saves (one goal) vs. Stony Brook...saw 3:36 of action vs. Rutgers but did not face a shot.

Personal: Thomas Foster “Tommy” Scherr (“share”)...son of Stuart and Pam Scherr...chemical engineering major with a minor in mathematical sciences...plans to attend medical school after graduation...worked as a lacrosse camp counselor during the summer...plays the guitar and also enjoys scuba diving...has an older sister...both parents are graduates of Frostburg State...father played college lacrosse at Frostburg State and cousin, Rob Scherr, played at Johns Hopkins...father is a podiatrist....honor student...recently received a Fellowship for his polymer research work in UD chemical engineering department...three-time member of CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll....earned UD's Miles Powell Scholarship in 2007 for outstanding engineering majors who are also varsity letterwinners.
