
High School: Played lacrosse and ice hockey at W.T. Woodson High School...four-year member of both squads...enjoyed an outstanding senior season in lacrosse when he earned all-region and all-district honors and was named second team all-area by the Fairfax Journal...played forward and defense in ice hockey...honor roll student.
At Delaware: Fourth-year member of squad...will battle once again serve as team's No. 1 backup behind senior Tom Scherr...skilled goalkeeper...has outstanding communication skills on field...has played in 12 career games with no starts and logged nearly 184 minutes...has allowed 23 goals (7.50 gaa) and posted 31 saves (.574).
2007 Season: Played in eight games as a backup goalkeeper behind Tom Scherr for Delaware, helping the Blue Hens capture the Colonial Athletic Association title and advance to the NCAA Final Four...saw 118 minutes of action and allowed 20 goals (10.14 goals against average) and posted 21 saves (.512 pct.)...also had three groundballs...saw action vs. Saint Joseph's (three saves in 15 minutes), Manhattan (two saves in 30 minutes), Mt. St. Mary's (two saves in 10 minutes), Georgetown (56 seconds), regular season game vs. Drexel (41 seconds), regular season game vs. Towson (1:50 minutes), Villanova (eight saves in 30 minutes), and Robert Morris (six saves in 29:52)...played second half vs. Villanova in place of Scherr and earned the victory as he allowed eight goals and made a career-high eight saves in leading UD to the comeback....had two groundballs vs. Manhattan...named to Colonial Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll.
2006 Season: Played in four games as a backup to Scherr and helping Hens advance to the CAA title game...saw 65:27 minutes of action and allowed two goals (2.75 gaa) and recorded 10 saves (.769 pct.)...also had four groundballs...saw action vs. Wagner (one save in 23:26), Mt. St. Mary's (three saves in 4:15), Villanova (7:46), and Robert Morris (six saves in 30 minutes).
2005 Season: Did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility...named to CAA Academic Honor Roll....team advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Personal: Warren Worsely Mayberry...son of Paul and Theresa Mayberry...finance major at Delaware...worked as a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual during the summer...oldest of three sons...both parents attended the University of North Carolina...father works for the U.S. Department of Defense...enjoys video games and water skiing in his spare time...two-time member of Colonial Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll. |
