Malden, MA/The Governor's Academy

High School: Played football, basketball, and lacrosse in post-graduate year at Governor Dummer Academy (now The Governor's Academy) in Byfield, MA...also played all three sports at Malden Catholic High School...earned 14 high school letters overall in the three sports...led lacrosse team the ISL championship at Governor Dummer and the Malden Catholic lacrosse team to three league titles...all-league selection in lacrosse at GDA...played tight end and safety in football and forward in basketball...honor roll student.

At Delaware: Second-year player who will move into spot on Blue Hens' first midfield unit...talented player with a strong shot and ability to score...will be expected to increase his contribution and scoring with key graduation losses to the UD midfield unit...nominee for the Tewaaraton Trophy as the top men's player in the NCAA.

2007 Season: One of team's top freshmen....earned letter during his first year with the Blue Hen program, helping lead the squad to the Colonial Athletic Association title and an NCAA Final Four berth...played in all 19 games in a backup role and was a member of team's No. 2 midfield unit for most of the season...was third leading goal scorer among UD rookies with nine goals and also dished out an assist...also had 38 shots and seven groundballs...enjoyed a strong start to his career, scoring six goals in the first five games of the season, including two each vs. Manhattan and Mt. St. Mary's...also scored twice vs. Robert Morris and dished his only assist vs. Albany...had season-high five shots vs. Manhattan and Robert Morris...had season-high three groundballs vs. Mt. St. Mary's...was held scoreless in five post-season games.

Personal: Martin James Cahill...son of James and Judy Cahill...business management major...works as a landscaper during the summer...enjoys golfing and deep sea fishing in his spare time...has a younger brother.
