Delaware, which dropped a 12-6 decision on the road at then No. 5 Duke Friday in its only action of the week, will resume Colonial Athletic Association play this Saturday when the Hens travel to Philadelphia to take on Drexel at 3 p.m. The Hens are 6-3 overall and are tied for the CAA lead with a 1-0 mark. All three of Delaware’s losses this season have come to teams ranked in the top 10 nationally at the time of the game.

The Blue Hens dropped two spots from No. 12 last week to No. 14 in this week’s United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association coaches poll and remained at No. 14 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse media poll. Drexel, which earlier this season defeated defending national champion and current No. 3 ranked Virginia, received votes in both polls but was not ranked in the top 20.

Cornell remained undefeated and in the top spot in the USILA poll as the Big Red (7-0) earned 10 of the 11 first place votes and 219 points overall. Albany, the only other undefeated Division I team in the nation at 7-0, earned the other first place vote and had 208 points. Virginia remained at No. 3 followed by Duke, Georgetown, Navy, Princeton, Loyola, Johns Hopkins, and North Carolina in the top 10. Maryland was at No. 11 followed by Towson, Notre Dame, Delaware, Bucknell, Syracuse, Army, Stony Brook, Fairfield, and UMBC. Dartmouth, Drexel, Ohio State, Colgate, and Villanova also received votes.

Cornell also remained at the top spot in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll with 13 first place votes and 298 points followed by Virginia (1, 281), Albany (1, 268), Duke, Princeton, Georgetown, Navy, Loyola, Johns Hopkins, and Maryland in the top 10. North Carolina was at No. 11 followed by towson, Notre Dame, Delaware, Syracuse, Army, Bucknell, Stony Brook, Dartmouth, and UMBC. Yale, Drexel, Harvard, Brown, Penn State, Colgate, Hobart, and Hofstra also received votes.

Among the top games this coming week are Top 20 showdowns between Towson at UMBC on Tuesday, Maryland at Navy on Friday, and Bucknell at Army, Duke at Johns Hopkins, Fairfield at Georgetown, North Carolina at Virginia, and Syracuse at Princeton, and Albany at Stony Brook on Saturday.
