RICHMOND, VA -- University of Delaware men’s lacrosse senior midfielder Jordan Hall (at right) was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week for his performance for the period ending March 7.
Hall, the 2005 Player of the Year and an honorable mention All-American from Surrey, British Columbia (Fleetwood Park High School), recorded a hat trick with three goals to lead Delaware to a 7-5 home victory over Rutgers University March 3 at Rullo Stadium.
He scored twice in the third period as the Hens improved to 4-0 with the win and extended their home winning streak to 12 games. It was Hall’s fourth career hat trick but first since the 2005 season.
Hall shared the weekly CAA honor with Sacred Heart senior Peter Greco, who had a goal and a school record six assists in a 22-5 win over Wagner. In addition to Hall and Greco, Towson freshman attackman Eric Boyle was named CAA Rookie of the Week.
Delaware, now 5-1 following a 19-5 win over Mt. St. Mary’s and a 13-7 loss to No. 4 Albany Saturday, are ranked No. 14 in this week’s USILA Top 20 poll and No. 17 in this week’s Nike/Inside Lacrosse Poll. The Blue Hens will host No. 7 Georgetown University this Wednesday, March 14 at Rullo Stadium at 7 p.m.
Blue Hen senior Alex Smith enters the game with 832 career faceoff victories, just six shy of the school and NCAA record of 838 by Steve Shaw in 1983-86.
