Delaware Men's Track Competes at Princeton

 

PRINCETON, NJ -- Jamin Elliott won the long jump with a leap of 23 feet, 3 1/4 inches to qualify for next week's IC4A Championships and the distance medley relay team also qualified with a fourthplace finish to highlight University of Delaware efforts at the Princeton Indoor Track Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Elliott (Churchland/Portsmouth, VA), who has already qualified for IC4A's in the triple jump, best the field with a career-best leap.The distance medley relay team of Mike DiGennaro (Hamilton- Wenham/Essex, MA), Mark Coyle (East/West Chester, PA), Steve Sinko (St. Mark's HS), and Kevin Danahy (Dover HS) placed fourth in a time of 10:19.31.

Also for the Blue Hens, Michael Reh (Middletown, NY HS) set a Delaware freshman record by leaping 6-7 for a third place finish in the high jump, Bokah Worjolah (Dickinson HS) was second in the 500 meters in a time of 1:07.09, and Andrew Johnson (Dover HS) placed fifth in the 200 meters in 23.18.

The IC4A championships will be held next weekend at Northeastern in Boston.
