Riley Leads Blue Hens
Once Again as Team Places 10th
BETHLEHEM, PA -- Pat Riley
finished eighth in the men's race and Erin Gemmill
placed 35th in the women's race to pace the University of
Delaware cross country teams at the 29th Paul Short
Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on
Saturday.
Delaware's men finished 10th with a total
of 278 points. The women's team finished 16th with 423
points.
Riley cross the line in 24:53.23 , 25
seconds behind individual champion Steve Sundell of
Columbia. Mike Sadowsky was Delaware's next-best
finisher in 58th place. A total of 233 runners participated
in the men's race.
In the women's race, Gemmill, the
individual champion in last week's Delaware Invitational,
crossed the line in 22:25.66. West Virginia's Megan Metcalfe
won the individual title with a time of 20:51.94.
William & Mary won the men's team
title with a total of 49 points, while Penn State won the
women's race wiith 51 points.
