Delaware 70, Colgate 68

Junior guard John Gordon hit a jumper with four seconds left to propel Delaware to a 70-68 victory over Colgate.

The win moved Delaware's record to 5-0 on the season, which is the Blue Hens best start since the 1971-72 season when they started out 6-0. Gordon who was held scoreless in the first half had 16 points in the second half to help the Blue Hens come back from a 41-33 halftime deficit.

Delaware, which trailed by as much as 10 points in the first half, and was trailing 65-59 with 4:35 remaining got a three-pointer by Greg Miller to tie the game at 68 with 1:44 left. The two teams exchanged possessions until Gordon's jumper, which put Delaware up for good.

Junior forward Mike Pegues shot 7-18 from the field, but still managed to lead the Blue Hens in scoring with 20 points on the night, while Madou Diouf paced the Hens on the boards with team-high eight rebounds.

Colgate was led by Pat Compolieta who scored 16 points and had eight rebounds for the Red Raiders.
