season on a positive note today as the Blue Hens
defeated American University 86-81 today in
Washington D.C. Delaware was led by a career-high
34 points from forward Mike Pegues and a
career-high 18 points from center John
Bennett. The Blue Hens started off the game on
12-4 run to jump out to an early lead. They were
also sparked by five and a half minute span in
which Pegues scored 12 straight points for the
Hens. American ,who dropped to 0-1 to start the
season, was led in scoringby Jarion Childs who had
25 points along with Matt Brown who chipped in with
13 points on the day. |
