RICHMOND, VA -- The University of Delaware men’s basketball team will be the 12th seed in the 2007 Colonial Athletic Association Tournament and will face fifth-seeded Northeastern Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the first round.

The Blue Hens went 5-25 during the regular season and finished 12th in the league standings with a 3-15 conference mark. The Huskies finished 12-18 overall and were tied for fifth with a 9-9 CAA record.

Other first round games on Friday feature No. 8 seed William & Mary facing No. 9 seed Georgia State at 12 noon, No. 7 seed Towson taking on No. 10 seed UNC Wilmington at 6 p.m., and No. 6 seed George Mason facing No. 11 seed James Madison at 8:30 p.m.

The winner of the Northeastern-Delaware game will take on fourth-seeded Drexel Saturday at 2:30 p.m.in the quarterfinals, while No. 1 seed Virginia Commonwealth will face the winner of the William & Mary-Georgia State game at 12 noon. Second-seeded Old Dominion will face the winner of the Towson-UNC Wilmington game at 6 p.m., and No. 3 seed Hofstra will take on the winner of the George Mason-James Madison game at 8:30 p.m.

The tournament semifinals will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., with the final on Monday at 7 p.m. All games will be held at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, VA.

Friday’s first round games will be webstreamed on www.caasports.com, while the four Saturday quarterfinal oontests and both semifinal games on Sunday will be televised by CN8. The championship game on Monday will be televised by ESPN.

Northeastern won both matchups with the Blue Hens this season, posting a 73-64 win over Delaware on January 27 in Boston and a 70-61 triumph last Wednesday at the Carpenter Center.
