SUNSET BEACH, NC -- The University of Delaware golf team finished in 15th place at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate held Saturday and Sunday.

The Blue Hens finished with a score of 598 (295-303) to finish 22 over par at the par-72, 6761-yard course. Western Carolina won the invitational with a score of 571, five under par, finishing one stroke ahead of host Elon, which posted a four under par score of 572. James Madison (575), Radford (579), Loyola (581), Gardner-Webb (582), Longwood (583), Kennesaw State (587), Stetson (589) and Guilford (590) rounded out the top 10.

Delaware was led by senior Joe McLister (right) and freshman Jason Bernstein, who each shot 73-75-148 to finish in a tie for 32nd place at four over par. Sophomore Tommy Ellison tied for 67th place after shooting 77-75-152, eight over par, while senior Tyler Kupper tied for 79th place after shooting 77-78-155, 11 over par.

Freshman John Jenson, who shot 72-83-155, also shot 11 over par and was tied for 79th place.

Matt Cook of Western Carolina and Kris Shepherd of Kennesaw State each shot 67-67-134 to finish at 10 under par, with Cook winning the invitational in a playoff.

Delaware returns to action on October 2-3 when the Blue Hens compete in the William & Mary Invitational at Kingsmill Golf Course in Williamsburg, VA.
