RICHMOND, VA -- University of Delaware senior men's golf captain Joe McLister (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County - at right) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Golfer of the Week for his performance during the week ending March 25.

A four-year standout and finance major at Delaware, McLister led the Blue Hen golf team to fourth place team finish with Yale at the George Washington Invitational held at Bear Trap Dunes GC in Bethany Beach, DE this past weekend.

McLister led Delaware to a team score of 297 the second day, the second best round of the day. He finished seventh individually as he carded a 73 Saturday and followed with an even par 72 on Sunday over the 6,834-yard course to finish at 145.

Although not taken into account for his Player of the Week Award, McLister followed his performance at George Washington with another solid showing at the William & Mary Invitational March 26-27 in Williamsburg, VA. The senior shot rounds of 69 and 74 to finish with a 36-hole score of 143 and placed fifth overall in the individual standings. As a team, Delaware placed fifth for its third straight top five finish this spring.

A three-year captain and 2006 All-Colonial Athletic Association performer when he placed 10th at the league tournament, McLister has been Delaware's top finisher six times this season and 27 times during his career and has recorded 13 career top 10 finishes. He currently leads the team with a 74.00 stroke average in 19 rounds this season.
