Delaware Senior Joe McLister Earns Spot on All-Colonial Athletic Association Team

RICHMOND, VA -- For the second straight year, University of Delaware men’s golf senior Joe McLister (at right) has been named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association team.

McLister, a senior from Leesburg, VA (Loudoun County High School), was one of five players named to the second team, joining Jeff Castle of Towson, Jens Fahrbring of Virginia Commonwealth, Doug Hurson of William & Mary, and John Murphy of Old Dominion. McLister was named to the All-CAA first team last season as a junior.

The All-CAA first team consisted of CAA Player of the Year Joel Sjoholm of Georgia State, CAA Rookie of the Year Eric Onesi of Old Dominion, Rafael Campos of Virginia Commonwealth, Stan Guerrero of Old Dominion, and Mark Haastrup of Georgia State. Old Dominion’s Murray Rudisill was named CAA Coach of the Year.

McLister completed another banner season for the Blue Hens this spring as he ranked second on the team with a 73.69 stroke average and led Delaware in eight tournaments. He posted three top 10 finishes and placed 24th at the CAA Championships this past weekend.

A three-year captain, McLister is Delaware’s career leader in stroke average (74.67) and also holds school records for most rounds in the 60’s (eight), lowest 36-hole total (136), and lowest 54-hole total (206). He had the team’s best finish in tournaments 30 times during his career, recorded 15 top 10 finishes, and won three tournaments. He was 10th at the CAA Championships in 2006.
