McLister Shoots Three Under Par As Delaware Golfers Finish Eighth At Bradford Creek Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, NC -- Blue Hen senior Joe McLister (at right) finished three under par to lead the University of Delaware golf team to an eighth place finish at the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate Golf Tournament hosted by East Carolina University Monday and Tuesday at the ECU Golf Course.

After shooting team scores of 295 and 285 on Monday, the Blue Hens shot a 289 on Tuesday to finish in eighth place in the 15-team field with a five over par score of 869 on the 7,151-yard, par 72 course. Radford won the tournament by shooting a 17 under par 847, egding Furman by one stroke. East Carolina finished third at 855, followed by Barton (857), Kennesaw State (858), Villanova (866), Old Dominion (868), and Delaware.

After shooting two rounds of even par 72 on Monday, McLister recorded a three under par 69 on Tuesday, his school-record eighth career round in the 60s. McLister, who finished in 12th place with a three under par 213, has now posted the lowest score for the Blue Hens in three straight tournaments and in seven of 10 events this season.

Jason Bernstein tied for 26th place as he shot 74-71-72=217 to finish one over par, while Josh Williamowsky shot 74-72-73=219 to finish tied for 33rd at three over par. Tommy Ellison tied for 55th place after shooting 79-70-75=224 to finish eight over par, while Jeff Griest tied for 62nd as he shot 75-76-75=226 to finish 10 over par.

Nick Nosewica of Barton earned medalist honors by shooting 67-70-68=205 to finish 11 under par, while Steve Arnold of Villanova (72-68-68=208), Hampton Ballard of Radford (72-68-68=208) and Tripp Brizendine of East Carolina (72-68-68=208) each tied for second place at eight under par.

The Blue Hens are back in action Friday and Saturday when Delaware competes in the Navy Invitational at the USNA Golf Course.
