STANTON, DE -- University of Delaware freshman Jason Bernstein (at right) defeated teammate John Jenson on the first hole of a sudden death playoff as the UD blue team won the Scotty Duncan Memorial Invitational held Saturday and Sunday at White Clay Creek Golf Course.

Bernstein shot 77-75-152 on the par-72, 7,007-yard course while Jenson, another Blue Hen freshman, shot 76-76-152 as both players finished eight over par. Bernstein and Jenson each played for the Delaware blue team, which won the team title with a score fo 617, 41 over par. Drexel was second at 632, 56 over par, while Goldey-Beacom came in third at 641, 65 over par.

Temple placed fourth with a score of 648, 72 over par, while Iona was fifth at 651, 75 over par. The Delaware gold team finished in sixth place at 663, 87 over par, while Wilmington College was seventh at 676, 100 over par, and Neumann was eighth at 699, 123 over par.

Blue Hen sophomore Tommy Ellison tied for ninth after shooting 79-79-158, 14 over par, for Delaware while senior Joe McLister shot 78-81-159 to finish tied for 12th at 15 over par. Freshman Mike Barrow tied for 14th place after shooting 84-76-160, 16 over par.

Freshman Dan Rexon, who shot 75-86-161, and junior Britt Murdoch, who shot 79-82-161, each tied for 15th place at 17 over par. Senior Josh Williamosky finished in 17th place after shooting 82-80-162, 18 over par, while junior Mike Strasburg tied for 35th as he finished 36 over par after shooting 87-93-180.

The Blue Hens return to action on October 30-31 when Delaware competes in the Old Dominion Invitational held at Sea Scape Golf Course in Nags Head, NC.
