KITTY HAWK, NC -- The University of Delaware golf team closed out its fall schedule with an 11th place team finish at the Old Dominion Invitational Tuesday at Seascape Golf Club.
The Blue Hens shot a team score of 295 on Tuesday to finish the two-day, 36-hole tournament with a score of 598, nine strokes off 10th place. Host Old Dominion captured the team title with a score of 570 while Kennesaw State and George Washington tied for second place at 576. Elon and Radford closed out the top five in the 15-team field.
Five Colonial Athletic Association teams competed in the tournament with Old Dominion finishing first, Drexel seventh, James Madison 10th, Delaware 11th, and Hofstra 15th. The Hens will resume action in March.
For the fifth time this fall, Delaware junior Joe McLister led the Blue Hens as he finished 24th overall after shooting rounds of 72 on Monday and 74 on Tuesday to finish at 146. Freshman Jeff Greist was 30th at 75-72=147, sophomore Josh Williamowsky was 55th at 82-72=154, J.J. Oakley placed 61st with a 78-77=155, and freshman Tommy Ellison was 62nd in 78-78=156.
