GREENVILLE, NC -- The University of Delaware golf team shot a three-round total of 912 to place ninth out of 14 teams at the 2005 Pirate Fall Invitational hosted by East Carolina University at the Bradford Creek Golf Course held Monday and Tuesday.

Delaware shot team scores of 302 and 304 on Monday and 306 on Tuesday to finish 48 over par with a final team total of 912 on the par 72, 7,145-yard course.

Tommy Ellison (right) led the Blue Hens with scores of 71 and 73 on Monday and 73 on Tuesday to finish at 217, one over par. Joe McLister shot 75 and 74 on Monday and 77 on Tuesday to finished tied for 29th at 226, 10 over par, while Steve Boerner finished 48th by shooting 79 and 79 on Monday and 75 on Tuesday at 233. J.J. Oakley finished 59th with scores of 77 and 78 on Monday and 82 on Tuesday to finish at 237, while Jeff Griest shot 81 and 80 on Monday and 81 on Tuesday to finish 68th at 242.

East Carolina won the invitational with a team score of 865, one over par, following by Campbell at 874, Charleston Southern at 878, High Point at 891, and Presbyterian at 894. Pirate teammates Robin Smith and Chris Ault each shot 211, five under par, to share the individual title.

Delaware concludes its fall season on October 31 and November 1 when the Blue Hens compete in the Old Dominion Invitational at Sea Scape Golf Course in Nags Head, NC.
