PISCATAWAY, NJ -- University of Delaware junior Joe McLister (Loudon Valley/Leesburg, VA) fired a two under par 69 for a three-round total of 208 to capture the individual title at the Rutgers Golf Invitational Saturday at Rutgers University Golf Course.

McLister, who captured his second career tournament title after winning the Goldey Beacom Invitational last spring, helped lead Delaware to a fifth place team finish in the 13-team field. The Hens will return to action Sept. 24-25 at the Elon Invitational at Sea Trail Golf Resort in Sunset Beach, NC.

McLister shot a 72 in Friday’s first round, a career-best 67 in Friday’s second round, the second lowest score in UD history and best by a Delaware player since 1987, and finished with a 69 Saturday to finish at 208, four strokes under par and two strokes better than second place finishers Chris Condello of Columbia and Seth Hirschhorn of Rutgers. McLister’s consecutive round score of 67-69=136 set a school record, bettering the mark of 137 by Jim Kania in back-to-back rounds in April 20-22, 1982.
