Hen Golfers Take Fourth Place Finish at
Scotty Duncan Memorial Tournament;
Williamowsky Places Sixth to Pace

MIDDLETOWN,
DE -- The University of Delaware golf
team closed the 2004-05 season Monday by
placing fourth in the final teams
standings at the Scotty Duncan Memorial
Tournament hosted by the Blue Hens at Frog
Hollow Golf Club.
Josh
Williamowsky (right) followed a
career-best 70 Sunday with a 77 Monday to
finish at 147 and place sixth overall for
the Blue Hens while teammate Joe McLister
shot 73 Monday and finished tied for
seventh at 148.
Temple
shot a team score of 293 Monday to
overtake first-day leader Liberty and win
the team title with a score of 590.
Liberty was second at 594 followed by
Drexel (595), Delaware (602), Delaware B
(624), Wesley (633), Liberty B (634), Anne
Arundel Community College (655), Hampton
(663), and Lafayette (663) in the 10-team
field.
Drexel's
Joe April shot a 69 Sunday and a 74 Monday
to finish at 143 to take the individual
title, one stroke better than Temple's
Billy Mullen and James Boose and Drexel's
Steve Ransom who shot 144 over the par 71,
6,589-yard course.
Also for
Delaware, Steve Banks was 10th at
76-75=150, Daniel Spiker was 26th at
80-77=157, and B.J. Jaworski was 32nd at
83-78=161.
For
Delaware's "B" team, Tyler Kupper was 15th
at 78-75=153, Britt Murdoch was 22nd at
78-78=156, Mike Strasburg was 26th at
80-77=157, and J.J. Oakley was 28th at
81-77=158.
Spiker, a
four-year standout, finished his career
with a stroke average of 77.53, the sixth
best career mark in school history.
McLister led the Blue Hens for the second
straight year with a 76.58 stroke average.
