Shoots Career-Best 70 as Delaware Moves to
Third After First Round of Scotty Duncan
Memorial Tournament

MIDDLETOWN,
DE -- Josh Williamowsky (right) shot a
career-best one-under par 71 and Joe
McLister fired a 75 to lead the University
of Delaware men's golf team to a third
place finish after the first day of the
Blue Hens' Scotty Duncan Memorial Golf
Tournament at Frog Hollow Golf Club
Sunday.
Liberty,
which had four golfers finish in the top
10 with scores of 75 or better, took the
first day team lead with a score of 290 in
the 10-team field. Temple was second at
297 followed by Delaware and Drexel in
third (301), Liberty B was fifth (315),
Delaware B was sixth (317), Wesley was
seventh (321), Anne Arundel Community
College was eighth (327), Hampton was
ninth (333), and Lafayette was 10th
(334).
The second
and final round of the tournament will get
underway Monday at 10 a.m. The annual
tournament honors the late Scotty Duncan,
Delaware's longtime golf coach and
associate athletics director who passed
away in 1990. The tournament is the final
action of the season for the UD golf
team.
In
addition to Williamowsky and McLister,
Steve Banks was 13th at 76, Dan Spiker was
25th with a score of 80, and B.J. Jaworski
was 34th with a score of 83 for the Blue
Hens.
Tyler
Kupper and Britt Murdoch led the Delaware
B team with scores of 78 to tie for 20th
place while Mike Strasburg was 25th at 80
and J.J. Oakley was 31st at 81.
Liberty's
Eric Klinger and Drexel's Joe April both
shot scores of two-under 69 over the
6,589-yard course to take the first round
individual lead. Williamowsky was third at
70 followed by Liberty's Parker McKoy in
fourth with a score of 71.
Wesley's
top finisher was Zac Oakley, J.J.'s
younger brother, with a score of 75 while
Mike Rushin shot 78 to tie for 20th.
