First Round April 27, 2002
MIDDLETOWN, DE -- George Washington University's Thomas Blankvooort and Lehigh's Patrick McCahill fired one-over-par 72 to tie for the lead after the first round of the Scotty Duncan Memorial at Frog Hollow GC Saturday afternoon. Lehigh also grabbed the team lead after the first round. The Mountain Hawks fired a team total 297, one shot ahead of Navy and four shots ahead of George Washington University. Delaware's Daniel Spiker was one of seven golfers one shot behind Blankvoort and McCahill after firing 74. Spiker shot 39 on the front nine before shooting two-under on the back nine to pull within one shot of the lead. Delaware's "A" team is tied for seventh in the team standings with a total of 310, 13 shots off the pace. The Blue Hens' "B" team is tied for 11th at 323. The final round gets underway Sunday morning with the first pairings slated for 11:30 a.m.
