Blue Hens Finish 11th at Stabler Invitational

 

CENTER VALLEY, PA -- The University of Delaware men's golf team finished 11th out of 18 teams at the Stabler Invitational at Center Valley Country Club.

Princeton won the team title with a two-day total of 596, edging out Ivy League-rival Penn and Colgate by seven shots.

Delaware's top indivuidual finisher was Cory Sheldon with a two-day total of 151. He fired rounds of 76 and 75 to finish seven-over par and tied for 18th place.

George Washington's Bryan Derdenger won the individual title in a playoff over Ken Kosteva of Bucknell. Both golfers finished one-over par 145 through 36 holes. However, Derdenger won the title on the first playoff hole.

Delaware will host the Delaware Collegiate Invitational at Bulle Rock Golf Club in Havre de Grace, MD next Saturday and Sunday.
