Jason Hescock, 25, who served as a student assistant football coach at his alma mater Southern Connecticut State University, returns for his third season as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Delaware in 2008.
Thanks to a much-improved defense and a high-powered offense that featured six All-Americans, he led the Blue Hens to another outstanding season in 2007 when Delaware went 11-4 and advanced to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision title game.
A native of Vernon, CT, Hescock earned his degree in exercise science with a concentration in Education at Southern Connecticut State in 2006. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Educational Leadership at Delaware.
In his role as graduate assistant, Hescock assists the UD staff in practice preparation, film breakdown, and film exchange.

Hescock attended Rockville High School in Vernon, CT where he competed in football, wrestling, and baseball and helped lead the baseball team to the 2000 state title. He was a four-year letterwinner in wrestling and served as captain of the football team.
He began his college career at NCAA I-AA Canisius where he played linebacker, tight end, and fullback for three seasons before transferring to Southern Connecticut State.
He did not play football at SCSU but served two seasons as a student assistant coach. He helped lead SCSU to a two-year record of 16-5 for head coach Rich Cavanaugh, including an 8-3 mark in 2005 when the team advanced to the NCAA Division II playoffs.
