High School: Competed in football, basketball, and baseball at nearby Tatnall School in Wilmington, DE...four-year standout wide receiver in football for head coach Jody Russell, a former Blue Hen tight end...earned all-conference and All-State honors...played guard in basketball and earned all-conference honors...played one season of baseball as an outfielder.

At Delaware: Third-year team member and a sophomore wide receiver for the Blue Hens...walk-on who will again add solid depth to strong receiver corps that returns all three starters...enters season projected as No. 3 receiver behind All-Atlantic 10 junior Aaron Love and redshirt freshman Tommy Crosby at one of the three receiver spots...caught one pass for five yards in Blue-White Spring Game in April...2006: Did not see game action as a backup wide receiver...team went 5-6 under head coach K.C. Keeler...2005: Did not see game action and retained etained freshman eligibility...team went 6-5.

Personal: Michael Steven “Mick” Purzycki...born March 5, 1987...son of Michael and Elizabeth Purzycki...business finance major at Delaware...has one sister...works construction during the summer...visited Europe in summer of 2005...enjoys water skiing...father is a lawyer...father was a standout wide receiver at Delaware in 1963-66, earning first team All-Middle Atlantic honors as a senior and recording 98 receptions for 1,390 yards for his career...uncle, Joe Purzycki, was an All-American defensive back for the Blue Hens in 1966-69 and recorded 13 career interceptions...Joe went on to serve as head football coach at James Madison and Delaware State.
