High School: Starter at fullback and defensive end at Berkeley High School...started each of his final three seasons and earned all-league honors twice on defense...for his career, registered 62 total tackles, 13 quarterback sacks, and two forced fumbles...rushed 26 times for 214 yards...led team to an 8-3 record his senior year.

At Delaware: First-year member of the squad after transferring from City College of San Francisco where he played two seasons...strong, physical player who will add depth at the defensive tackle position...projected at No. 3 on the depth chart at left tackle behind returning starter Jeremy Kametz and redshirt freshman Scott von Duyke.

At City College of San Francisco: Two-year member of the squad as a defensive lineman for head coach George Rush...led team to two-year record of 23-3...2006: Starting defensive tackle for team that went 11-2 and advanced to the California Junior College championship...tied for team lead with seven quarterback sacks...added 34 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and scored a touchdown...2005: Part-time starter at defensive tackle for team that went 12-1 and outscored opponents 402-134.

Personal: Julian Andrew James...born Dec. 7, 1986 in Berkeley, CA...son of William and Denise James...will major in sociology at Delaware...brother, Justin, played defensive end at San Jose State and graduated in 2006...father is an airplane engineer and mother is an elementary school teacher.
