High School: Played at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School for coach Art Walker...played center, punter, and kicker...earned first team Associated Press AAAA (Large School) All-State honors on offensive line as a senior in 2004...also earned first team all-conference and first team All-WPIAL honors...two-time all-conference selection...named first team AAAA All-State center by Pennsylvania Football News in 2004...averaged 40.4 yards per punt as a senior and 56.6 yards on kickoffs...team went 42-6 during his career...led Central Catholic to two WPIAL AAAA western titles, a state AAAA title in 2004 and a state second place finish in 2003...team posted 16-0 record and downed Neshaminy 49-14 in the 2004 state title game...team was ranked No. 6 in final USA Today national Top 25 high school poll..three-year starter on offensive line...also played first base and designated hitter for baseball team...honor student.

At Delaware: Third-year junior and a two-year letterwinner at center...has battled senior Mark Ciavirella for the starting center spot over the past two seasons and will do so again this fall...projected as No. 2 center behind Ciavirella entering pre-season camp...has played in 16 career games with 15 starts...one of seven Blue Hen offensive linemen with starting experience entering the season...ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American candidate and NACDA All-Academic Team nominee...2006: Earned second letter as a sophomore...appeared in all 11 games and started each of the final 10 contests...took over starting center spot for Ciavirella in Week 2 vs. Albany and stayed there the rest of the season...helped the UD offense average 26.3 points (No. 4 in A-10), 356.6 total yards (No. 5), and 253.0 passing yards (No. 2) per game...team ranked No. 9 in NCAA I-AA in passing and No. 30 in both scoring and total offense...team went 5-6 under head coach K.C. Keeler...2005: Was expected to sit out a redshirt season as a true freshman but was pushed into action midway through the season due to injuries on the offensive line and performed well at center in five games...team went 3-2 with him as a starter...started the final five games of the season and made his collegiate debut in win over defending national champion James Madison Oct. 22...team went 6-5...helped pave the way for All-American running back Omar Cuff and offensive attack that ranked third in the Atlantic 10 and 20th in NCAA I-AA in rushing offense (119.64).

Personal: Jonathan Mark Herrman...born April 25, 1987...son of Jeffrey and Diana Herrman..has an older sister...honor student as an accounting major at Delaware...two-time member of Atlantic 10 Academic Honor Roll team...enjoys hunting and fishing in spare time...comes from an athletic family...father played college football at Juniata, uncles played college football at Wake Forest, Juniata, and Indiana (PA), and cousin, Jackie Herrman, played college softball at Syracuse...has worked as a deliveryman during the summer.
