High School: Standout running back and defensive back for head coach Kevin Ronalds at William Allen High School....also a standout in track and field as a three-year letterwinner...as a senior, carried 83 times for 700 yards (8.4 avg.) and also caught six passes for 70 yards while making 24 tackles and one interception...for his career, rushed for 900 yards, had eight catches for 70 yards, 39 tackles, and 10 pass breakups...three-year varsity letterwinner in football...earned first team All-Lehigh Valley Conference honors at both running back and defensive back...earned team’s Special Teams Award as a junior in 2004...earned a medal and All-State honors in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the 2005 state championships...4 x 100 meter relay team also won District II title...also wrestled one season...honor roll student.

At Delaware: One of team’s smallest players but also one of its fastest...looking to contribute as a redshirt freshman this fall...played on scout team as a running back but is expected to move to defensive back...projected as team’s No. 3 strong safety behind sophomore Anthony Bratton and freshman Jay Pena entering season...2006: Team’s No. 3 running back behind All-American Omar Cuff and fellow freshman Jared Bradley but did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility...team went 5-6 under head coach K.C. Keeler.

Personal: Corey Herbert Broyles...born Oct. 5, 1988...son of Stanley and Darice Broyles...has two sisters...undeclared major...cousin, Dwayne Broyles, played college basketball at Delaware’s Colonial Athletic Association rival James Madison....worked as a lifeguard at an area pool in 2006 and made a save on only his second day on the job.
