High School Honors: Earned All-State honors as a defensive back at Passaic Tech under head coach John Iurato in 1998...named one of top 100 players in New Jersey...All-Area, All-Passaic County, and second team All-State selection as a senior...named team offensive Most Valuable Player as a quarterback and led team to Group IV state title and No. 7 state ranking...ran track and played baseball. At Delaware: 2003: Team co-captain with Jason Nerys...emotional team leader ...teams coach on the field from strong safety position...pre-season second team All-Atlantic 10 Conference selection...will look to return to old form after missing all but one game in 2002 due to a dislocated left hip injury suffered in the season opener...received NCAA medical redshirt year to return this fall...sat out spring drills while rehabilitating the injury but is expected to be back at 100 percent for pre-season drills in August...nicknamed Pops by his teammates...enters fifth season of competition with 143 career tackles (90 solo) and seven interceptions...seven interceptions are just five shy of 10th place all-time at Delaware...has played in 31 career games with 12 starts...has a good nose for the ball and excellent hands...will also return punts for the Blue Hens...one of teams best athletes and the strongest among all UD defensive backs (375 lb. bench press/495 squat)... 2002: Had his season cut short early when he suffered a dislocated hip injury in the closing minutes of the season-opening win over Georgia Southern...enjoyed an outstanding game with eight tackles, including six solo stops, and recovered a fumble...received additional year of eligibility because he had played as a true freshman...still had a huge impact on the team as emotional leader on the sidelines and in the lockerroom...2001: Started all 10 games at strong safety as the same four players in the secondary started every game...ranked fourth on the team with 63 tackles, including 45 solo stops...had three tackles for loss, broke up three passes, and forced one fumble...second on team with three interceptions for eight yards....posted career-high 14 tackles in season finale vs. Villanova...intercepted two passes vs. New Hampshire and one vs. James Madison...named Blue Hen Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts vs. UNH...also had nine tackles vs. Rhode Island in season opener...2000: Played in all 14 games in reserve role at safety and cornerback...ranked sixth on team with 57 tackles (31 solo)...had one sack, broke up four passes, recovered one fumble, and blocked a kick...intercepted three passes for 107 yards, returning one 97 yards for a touchdown on the last play of the game vs. West Chester, the fourth longest return in UD history...had eight tackles and interception vs. West Chester and eight tackles (one sack) and an interception vs. Hofstra...1999: One of only two freshmen on squad to see action...appeared in six games, including a start against Lehigh...recorded 15 total tackles (eight solos), including two for loss...had six tackles vs. Villanova...recorded first career interception vs. Rhode Island.
