COLUMBUS, OH -- Former University of Delaware football standout Matt Nagy (at right), now one of the top signal callers in the Arena Football League, will lead his Columbus Destroyers against the Philadelphia Soul in the Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football Monday Night game of the week tonight at 8 p.m.

Nagy, a seventh-year member of the league, led Columbus to the Arena Bowl title game a year ago. This season, Nagy has led the Destroyers to a record of 2-5. He has completed 149 of 235 passes for 1,678 yards and 32 touchdowns with just three interceptions.

A native of Manheim, PA, Nagy set over 20 career passing records during an All-American career at Delaware, including marks for pass completions (502), yards (8,214), and touchdowns (58). He earned first team All-Atlantic 10, first team All-East, and third team All-American honors as a senior in 2000 when he led the Blue Hens to the 12-2, the Atlantic 10 title, and a berth in the NCAA I-AA semifinals. He threw for 3,436 yards and 29 touchdowns that season.

The Destroyers also announced late last week that they have re-signed another former University of Delaware All-American in cornerback Sidney Haugabrook. Haugabrook, a native of Atlanta, GA, played earlier this season for Columbus and contributed 23 tackles and three defended passes.

He earned consensus All-American honors at Delaware in 2004 and was named the UD Outstanding Senior Male Athlete of the Year. He led Delaware to the 2003 NCAA I-AA national title, started every game of his career for four seasons, set 13 school records for punt returns, and became only the second player in school history to earn all-conference honors all four season. He had 12 career interceptions and scored six touchdowns on returns.
