NEWARK, DE -- Tickets for the University of Delaware football team’s appearance in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision title game this Friday in Chattanooga, TN will go on sale beginning Sunday, Dec. 9, the UD Athletics Ticketing Office announced.

The University of Delaware, which advanced to the finals with a 20-17 win over Southern Illinois Saturday afternoon, has been allotted 3,000 tickets for the championship game, which will be played Friday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, TN vs. two-time defending champion Appalachian State. The game will also be televised live on ESPN2 and will be broadcast live on the Blue Hen Radio Network on WDSD 94.7 FM and The River 92.9 FM, and on the UD student station WVUD 91.3 FM.

All tickets are general admission and are $20. A $3 order fee will be charged for for phone and walk-in orders and a $2 fee for on-line ticket (available only to UD season ticket holders) orders.

Blue Hen season ticket holders can begin ordering their tickets on-line on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. through the University of Delaware Online Athletics Ticket Office at www.udel.edu/sportsinfo and clicking on Online Ticket Sales. Season ticket holders can begin purchasing tickets by phone (302-831-2257) or in person at the Delaware Field House Ticket Office Monday, Dec. 10, and Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tickets will only be available for purchase to season ticket holders until Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Tickets for University of Delaware students will be available for purchase in person only at the Delaware Field House Ticket Office on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Wednesday, Dec. 12, form 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. A valid University of Delaware I.D. must be presented when purchasing tickets.

If tickets remain after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, they will be released for general public sale through the University of Delaware Online Ticket Office (www.udel.edu/sportsinfo) beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. No phone orders will be available for purchase to the general public in person at the Delaware Field House Ticket Office on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The University of Delaware will not be sponsoring any group trips for the general public or students to the national championship game. However, several Delaware area companies may be planning travel packages, including Charlie B Travel in Newark (302-368-9151).
