2004: All-American candidate and a Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-American candidate...one of the top defensive linemen in the nation...earned first team pre-season All-American honors by Lindy's Pre-Season Magazine and first team pre-season All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors by coaches and media...three-time member of Atlantic 10 Academic AII-Conference team and twice named to Verizon/CoSIDA Academic District 2 team...can play at both tackle and end...anchors a defensive front that returns seven of the top eight regulars from 2003 when unit posted 41 sacks...has never missed a game in career, appearing in 38 contests with 25 starts...has collected 83 tackles (56 solo), 21.5 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks...Delaware's active career leader in both tackles for loss and sacks...time of 4.84 in the 40-yard dash, 34-inch vertical jump, 355 lb. bench press, 500 lb. squat lift, and 315 lb. clean lift are all among best by UD defensive linemen in spring testing...

2003: Formed one of nation's top defensive line tandems with AII-American Shawn Johnson in leading Hens to NCAA I-AA national title...keyed a defensive front that recorded 41 sacks and ranked fifth in NCAA I-AA in scoring defense (15.4), No. 16 in total defense (303.0), and No. 17 in rushing defense (114.3)...played in all 16 games and started 13...started 11 games at left tackle and two at right end...earned second team All-Atlantic 10 honors for the second straight year...earned a spot on the Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 second team...ranked 11th on the team in tackles with 38 (23 solo)...ranked third with 10 tackles for losses of 38 yards and contributed five sacks for 22 yards...also intercepted a pass, broke up three others, recovered a fumble, and blocked two field goals...posted season-high five tackles vs. New Hampshire and had four vs. West Chester and Hofstra...had two tackles for loss vs. Hofstra, West Chester, and Villanova...recovered a fumble vs. Villanova and posted first career interception and returned it 17 yards in NCAA playoff win over Southern Illinois...became first player in UD history to block two field goal attempts in a game in triple overtime win over Massachusetts...Blue Hen Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Week vs. Villanova and Northern Iowa...

2002: Slated to begin season as team's starter at defensive end but moved to tackle spot just before opener when All-Atlantic 10 tackle Femi Ayi was dismissed from the team...started all 12 games, including 10 at tackle...12th on the team in tackles with 29 (18 solo)...was third on the team with 8.5 tackles for loss (34 yards) and recorded 3.5 quarterback sacks (15 yards)...had one pass breakup and recovered one fumble, returning it 18 yards vs. Villanova...enjoyed best game vs. Massachusetts, taking part in six tackles, including three for loss and 1.5 sacks and earning Blue Hen Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Week honors...made four stops each vs. Georgia Southern and Rhode Island...in addition to the fumble return vs. Villanova...also had two tackles, including one sack for nine yards...named to Verizon/CoSIDA District 2 Academic second team...

2001: Lettered as a redshirt freshman...served in a backup role to Ron Cook and used on passing downs...played in all 10 games and ranked No. 4 among defensive linemen with 16 tackles...had three tackles for loss, recorded one sack (vs. William & Mary), and recovered a fumble vs. Massachusetts...had career-high five tackles vs. Hofstra, four vs. William & Mary, and three tackles in collegiate debut vs. Rhode Island...

2000: Did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility...

High School Honors: Linebacker and fullback under head coach Steve Muller at Huntington High School...earned All-division and All-Suffolk County honors and LaBue Award as top scholar-athlete in Suffolk County...led football team division title and county finals as a senior...played in Long Island vs. New York City Empire Challenge All-Star game...named to Golden Eleven Team of the National Football Foundation for excellence in athletics, academics, and community service...team Most Valuable Player and team cap-tain in football, basketball, and lacrosse...teammate of Delaware senior offensive tackle Paul Thomson...two-time all-league selection in basketball...all-county in lacrosse and led team to county finals...National Honor Society student...

Personal: Christopher James Mooney...born Feb. 5, 1982...son of James and Dawn Mooney...honor student as an accounting major...father played football at Villanova in 1973-74...avid fisherman...has worked as a camp counselor.
