RICHMOND, VA - University of Delaware senior midfielder Stephanie Swain was named the Colonial Athletic Association Field Hockey Player of the Week Monday after scoring two goals to guide the Blue Hens to a 1-1 record in the Duke/Champions Tournament this past weekend.

Swain, who has started every game in her career for the Hens, scored a goal and produced the game winning assist during an impressive 5-4 comeback victory over 16th ranked Michigan State. The following day she scored the Hens’ only goal vs. No. 3 Duke in the tournament final.

Swain, who had three goals all of last season, leads the Blue Hens in goals and is tied for the team lead in points.

Delaware will next be in action Saturday at 11:30 a.m. when it hosts Ohio State on the first day of the Blue Hen Classic at Rullo Stadium.
