NEWARK, DE -- Behind Mike McGuire's strong pitching performance, the Blue team topped the Grey squad, 8-3, to capture the World Series title on Tuesday afternoon at Bob Hannah Stadium.

McGuire (at right) fired six strong innings, surrendering only two unearned runs. During his outing, he gave up just a single hit while notching seven strikeouts.

Dan Overcash slammed his second home run of the fall after also clocking one in Game Two yesterday. During the contest, Overcash added a single and two runs batted in as well.

Scott Shockley also showed off his lumber, launching a home run for the champions. John Duvall chipped in with a single, RBI, and two stolen bases.

For the Grey squad, Zach Costello had a double and two steals.

The game concluded the fall season for the Delaware baseball team. The Blue Hens open the regular season on February 22 at 5 p.m. when they travel to face the Citadel.
