NEWARK, DE -- Senior striker Sobhan Tadjalli, who scored the game-winning goal in the Blue Hens' 2-0 upset men's soccer win over league-leading Old Dominion Friday night, is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending Nov. 5.

Tadjalli (at right) scored just nine minutes into the first half, his 23rd career tally, and freshman goalkeeper Conrad Rusnak made 10 saves in his first career start as Delaware stunned the CAA front-runners and the No. 5 ranked team in the South Atlantic region at the UD Mini-Stadium.

Tadjalli, the Hens’ leading scorer last season with nine goals, had yet to find the net this year until the 8:39 mark, when he settled a feed from freshman midfielder Demar Stephenson, raced into space, and booted a long, high shot past Monarch goalkeeper Evan Newton to give Delaware a 1-0 lead it would never relinquish.

Delaware will take a record of 3-12-2 (3-6-1 CAA) into its season finale Nov. 8 vs. Drexel.
