NEWARK, DE -- University of Delaware sophomore track and field standout Chase Renoll is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for April 21, 2008.

Renoll, a sophomore from York, PA (Spring Grove High School) who is enrolled in the Delaware College of Arts and Sciences, led the Blue Hens men's outdoor track and field squad to a fourth place finish at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships Friday and Saturday at the College of William & Mary.

Renoll was one of two Delaware athletes to capture an individual event as he threw the shot put a season-best 49-feet, 11-inches to win the title and earn an automatic berth into the NCAA East Regionals May 30-31 at Florida State. Renoll beat runner-up and teammate John Viotto by eight inches.

Earlier in the meet, Renoll placed 10th in the discus with a toss of 130-feet, 4-inches.

Last season as a freshman, Renoll placed third in the shot put and fifth in the discus.
