NEWARK, DE -- University of Delaware sophomore women's outdoor track and field hurdler Alexi Capsouras is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for her performance for the period ending April 16.

Capsouras (at right) won three races to lead the University of Delaware to a second place finish at the Rider University Outdoor Track and Field Invitational Saturday afternoon in Lawrenceville, NJ.

The Delaware women captured eight first place finishes to post 162 points, just one shy of champion Sacred Heart with 163 points.

Capsouras won the 100 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.98 and the 400 meter hurdles with a clocking of 1:05.21 and teamed with Liz Harvin, Cristine Marquez, and Kellyn Wright to win the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3:56.92.

She will lead the Blue Hens into the Colonial Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships Apri. 20-21 at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.

Last season at the CAA Championships, Capsouras placed fifth in the 4 x 400 meter relay, sixth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.75), and seventh in the 100 meter hurdles (14.84).
