NEWARK, DE -- University of Delaware senior swimmer Andrew Zinn, who enjoyed a record-breaking weekend at the Colonial Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships this past weekend at George Mason, is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending March 2.

Zinn (at right), a senior marketing and economics major from Wilmington, DE (McKean High School), became the first Blue Hen men's swimmer to capture a CAA individual title since Delaware joined the league in 2001-02 as he captured the 100 freestyle in a school-record time of 44.42 during Saturday's final day of competition.

He enjoyed an outstanding meet in which he set seven school records, captured three first place finishes, and was an NCAA Provisional Qualifier in two events.

He captured meet championships in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay, was second in the 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle, and fourth in the 400 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay.

He also set school records in the 50 freestyle (20.16), 100 freestyle (44.42), 200 freestyle (1:39.92), 200 freestyle relay (1:21.40), 400 freestyle relay (3:01.50), 400 medley relay (3:24.96), and 800 freestyle relay (6:47.29).

Delaware's third place team finish was its best since placing third at the America East Conference championships in 2001.
